FAQ

If you can't find an answer to your question please do get on touch via our CONTACT form.

What does my ticket include?

There is only one kind of ticket available - and that is a festival pass that covers all four days, and all events at both of our venues. We do not offer tickets for individual days, or events. Events run throughout the day and into the evenings. There will be a special celebration to end the festival on the Saturday night - more details will be announced closer to the time.

Please note that entry to events at our smaller daytime venue Kjarval will be limited by the venue size. A ticket does not guarantee entry. We strongly recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment. Headline events will take place at our larger venue. The full event programme will be released closer to the festival. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at festival@icelandnoir.com

How much do tickets cost?

Our standard four-day festival pass is 20,000 Icelandic Krona. Please note that our Early Bird ticket offer expired on the 23rd of January.

Where can I buy tickets from?

Our ticketing partner site is Tix.is and you can buy tickets HERE

I’m having an issue with the ticketing site - what should I do?

The quickest and easy way to get this resolved is to contact Tix directly. Their Icelandic and English-language customer support phone line is available on weekdays between 12:00 and 16:00 - Call +354 551 3800.

Please do feel free to get in touch with us using our CONTACT form if you are still having issues, and we will be very happy to help!

When will the event program be released?

We aim to publish the full festival program one month before the festival.

How do I get to the festival?

Iceland Noir is a city festival held at two VENUES  - Iðnó and Kjarvalsstofa - which are a four minute walk apart. Reykjavík–Keflavík Airport (KEF) is the nearest international airport and the main airport in Iceland. It is a 40 minute drive from Reykjavík city centre. Airport shuttle buses depart from the airport to the city bus depot (BSI) roughly every 30 minutes, and will take you on to most hotels and guesthouses in the city.

Do you have any hotel deals or recommended places to stay?

We strongly suggest finding accommodation within a reasonable walking distance of the venues. Taxis in Iceland are very expensive, and it's very cold in November! Reykjavik city centre is very small and there are many hotels, guesthouses and AirBnb properties nearby to choose from.

Some of the nearest hotels are below:

Hotel Borg
Exeter Hotel
Kvosin
Centre Hotels Plaza

Refurinn Reykjavik Guesthouse

We don’t have any deals available on accommodation this year, but we are looking into this for future years when Iceland has recovered more from the effects of Covid! if you would like any further advice on where to stay, please do get in touch via our CONTACT form and we will do our best to help.

I’m from the press - can I get a free ticket?

We are a small, volunteer run festival. We are only able to exist through money we make from ticket sales and some small sponsorship subsidies, with every krona that comes in going back into the festival. We do everything we can to keep our ticket price as low as possible and as such we don’t routinely offer free passes. If you are from a brand or media outlet, and would like to work with us or cover the festival, then please do get in touch with us at festival@icelandnoir.com.

Are all of the events in English?

Yes!

I'm an author. Can I join the line-up?

Our 2022 programme is now full, but do feel free to drop us a line and we can let you know when 2023 festival submissions are open: festival@icelandnoir.com
